This piece was created from a place of love for all those who are struggling or continue to struggle with self harm. You are welcome here.
You matter. ..."On your rainiest days remember that flowers still grow from the mud."

One of my first mental health pieces. I had been requested to do a piece on self harm. I found this quote and really loved it but then realized I read it wrong. So this is my version of it and what inspired the art. "On your rainiest days remember that flowers still grow from the mud." Though this piece may be triggering I am inclined to believe not talking about or representing mental health may do more harm than good.

The flower is a goldenrod which represents encouragement and growth. We often grow most through our pain, and also loved the depiction of encouragement reaching out to him.
.
.
I intentionally used a male model as their tends to be a stigma around men not being a loud to express emotional pain.

I hope if you are in a healthy place you take time to be the flower and if you aren't in a good place you reach for the goldenrods in your life
